Proven Results in the Field
Performance Overview
SCION Drilling’s exploration drilling results speak for themselves. From high-recovery HQ programs in South Dakota to RC pre-collars in Wyoming, our performance is field-proven across varied terrain and technical conditions. Our campaigns are defined by consistency, recovery, and reliability across tough geographies and demanding timelines. Whether collaring at elevation, drilling through variable lithologies, or mobilizing into remote terrain, our crews deliver measurable performance and geological confidence.
Multi-Year South Dakota HQ/PQ & Piezometer Program – Finalised Q1 2025

SCION completed a winter drilling campaign in the Black Hills of South Dakota in early 2025. The program objective: deliver a combination of HQ and PQ core, along with piezometer monitoring holes, totaling over 25,000 ft.
-
98% core recovery
-
No lost-time incidents
-
Steep pad access using modular, tracked support
-
Seamless core transitions, structural integrity for geotechnical analysis, core orientation, and geotechnical sample preparation
Beyond the Numbers
This program supported multiple geological models, provided precise oriented core samples for structural assessment, and helped progress the client from delineation to definition with confidence.
Remote Access Highlights

From remote sites across the Western U.S., including the snowy foothills of Wyoming, SCION specializes in remote access programs. Our tracked and heli-portable fleet can mobilize quickly while minimizing surface impact.
“Their responsiveness and core quality gave our team the confidence we needed to define the structure.” – Senior Geologist
Additional Campaigns

- Wyoming: Ongoing mud rotary drilling program in 2025 for a valued uranium exploration client, with over 19,773 ft drilled to date—delivering reliable footage and subsurface data critical to advancing program objectives.
- Wyoming: RC + diamond collar transitions for REE exploration (2024).
-
South Dakota: 5,500 m (~18,045 ft) RC program completed in 2023 targeting greenfield spodumene-hosted pegmatites for geochemical and pre-collar sampling.
